Spanish Final Exams

Spanish Final Exams are on Thursday, June 17th in the afternoon. Sixth and Seventh Grade Students are receiving study guides in class for the exam and Eighth Grade Students will be writing an essay which they cannot study for. The New York State Eighth Grade Spanish Proficiency Exam will be given on Monday, June 21st in the morning and students will receive their results with their 4th Quarter Report Cards.

I have printed out copies of the rubrics for the students and they will be provided with this information on Friday, February 5th, 2010. This is to better prepare them for the exam which they will take in June. Please feel free to look over the pdf document on this website. Spanish Binders

Something that I have noticed when collecting students’ binders is that many of them are missing old tests and quizzes. The reason for hanging onto these exams is so that students will be able to study from them for their Final Exam in June. It is imperative that your child keeps these and has them in their binder when it is collected that way they can (a) receive the highest possible grade on their binder which counts as a test grade and (b) have them as reference materials for the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter and I look forward to a continued successful school year with your children.

Spanish Proficiency Exam

The NYS Spanish Proficiency Exam for 8th Graders will be administered on Monday, June 21st, 2009 at 9:15am.

Firma y devuelve

If your son/daughter comes home with a test/quiz/project that has a stamp on it reading “Firma y devuelve” that means sign and return. This must be signed and returned to me because your child did not pass the assignment. Thank you for your cooperation and I look forward continued success with your children.

School Supplies

The students will need to have the following materials for Spanish Class:

Agenda

A 1.5” three ring binder with dividers to keep handouts and notes in.

Loose-leaf paper

PEN OR PENCIL everyday

Markers, Crayons, or Colored Pencils.

Two different colored highlighters.
